The Alta Irrigation District Board of Directors commemorated Superintendent Steve Barnett in honor of his retirement at their December 2023 meeting, acknowledging his dedication to the District for over 18 years.
Barnett began his career with the District in February 2005 as a Supervisor, and advanced to the position of Superintendent in September 2020. Throughout his many years of service, Barnett served the landowners of Alta Irrigation District with integrity and dedication.
“Steve has been exceptional in his role as Superintendent, showing unwavering dedication and inspiring his fellow colleagues. His commitment to our District has been invaluable, and we express our sincere gratitude for his devoted service. We wholeheartedly wish him a joyful and thoroughly deserved retirement,” said Jack Brandt, Board President.
Throughout his tenure at Alta Irrigation District, Barnett meticulously managed the District’s water systems, overseeing operations and maintenance. His commitment ensured regulatory compliance and the timely execution of all activities. Barnett also demonstrated exceptional leadership by supervising and evaluating staff while ensuring the proper operation and maintenance of all facilities and equipment. His efforts significantly contributed to the District’s seamless water deliveries to its customers.
Taking over his position as the District’s Superintendent is Jordan McCullough. McCullough has over 10 years’ experience as a supervisor and project manager working for various roofing companies in the Central Valley. In those roles, he prioritized employee safety, effectively managed projects, and maintained project timelines.
Prior to assuming the role of Superintendent, McCullough worked as an operations manager for CDP Operating LLC, where he supervised operations, ensured equipment functionality, and oversaw daily crew management to guarantee project completion.
