Dinuba – At its regular meeting on April 12, the Board of Directors of Alta Irrigation District set May 19, 2025, as the official start date for this year’s water run.  The board also authorized the general manager to adjust irrigation schedules as needed to manage the anticipated water supply efficiently.

This decision comes as the latest Bulletin 120 report from the California Department of Water Resources (DWR), which estimates April through July runoff at approximately 79% of normal.  DWR has two additional snow surveys scheduled for later this month.

Although mid-spring storms helped improve snowpack levels, they were not enough to overcome the below normal precipitation recorded in December 2024 and January 2025.

Based on current hydrologic forecasts and projected irrigation demand, the 2025 water run is expected to conclude during the last week of August.
